Bajon, Jean-Yves Bajon.  ‘Les Annee Mao’ Une hiostoire de la Chine en affiches (1949-1979) Les Editions du Pacifique, 128 pages, Paris, 2001. Exhibition catalogue. Hard cover. Arguably one of the most interesting of all the books on this subject, because it has early posters included. This book was published as an exhibition catalogue of these posters.  A second, in paperback, edition was produced in 2013. X2 (Hard and paperback)

Propaganda  Department of the All-China Conference of Representatives of Literary and Art Workers. Peking. 1949 146pp. This was a major conference, where it was made clear what road Chinese art should take, an ordered, political one. n.b. Some of the illustrations in the book are in b&W, whereas we show the polychrome version. (This has been a well-used copy and needs restoration)
